A 10 minute drive brings you to the town of Torrevieja, the closest Spanish town has retained much of its atmosphere and many Spaniards choose to spend their holidays here each year. There is an abundance of good restaurants and bars in the town, providing a lively nightlife.

A firm favourite with children are the Aquaparks at Torrevieja and Quesada which provide lots of fun in the summer months.

The Playa Flamenca and the Supacore Centres
are only a five minute stroll from the apartment. They have many bars and restaurants, including entertainment, plus a supermarket, shops and a bank. There is a Saturday Market close by (below).

The local beaches are wide and sandy with water sports being very popular especially at La Zenia during the summer. Most are within a short walk.

The Villamartin Centre is a short five minute drive, also with numerous bars and restaurants, and in the summer evenings there is a variety of entertainment provided in the Plaza.

The Market in Torrevieja

The Promenade in Torrevieja

The lengthy promenade boasts a string of market stalls during the high season and you’ll need plenty of time to see it all as it’s huge and sells all types of food, spices, clothing, textiles and plenty more. Next to this is a fun fair. There is also a Saturday Market in Playa Flamenca which is growing in popularity.

The salt flats to the west and north of Torrevieja form a nature reserve which is home to flamingos and all sorts of wild life. During the day Torrevieja also offers a range of leisure and entertainment areas. As well as its beaches and numerous terraces along its maritime promenade, its great aquatic park (Aquópolis) is swarming with families, young people and children during the summer months.

Terra Mitica Theme Park, near Benidorm, is about 1.30min drive away.
