Just over the hill and outside San Martinho Bay is Gralha beach, a very quiet secluded spot with atlantic waves at the foot of the cliffs. There is a good coast road north and south (not shown on this map) to more excellent beaches (explore the links on the map). 10 kilometers south is Foz Arello which is a magnificent expanse of sand from where you can surf the Atlantic waves. 10 Kilometers north is the fishing town of Nazare which also has a wide beach and a popular promenade with a tram lift to a cliff top view from the old town. On the way you can visit Salgados beach, but beware the waves and currents here! Inland a visit to historical Obidos is recommended. Also Alcobaca Monastery.
